You need to keep the second ( component ) and third ( table ) field empty in "Table" field row

I exported a single category of Joomla articles from the Joomla 2.5 site as a CSV file.

On the Joomla 3.5 site I chose import using the k2 item import profile.

vData told me the import was successful, but no K2 items were imported. The imported articles appeared in the list of Joomla articles.

Below is a screen capture of the top part of the k2 item import profile on the Joomla 3.5 site.

Is that what it's supposed to look like?

Hello,
K2 Item Import profile is the right one to import K2 Items. You do not need to copy Joomla articles profile. It seems something went wrong when you import using this profile previously. Please try again with the same K2 Item Import Profile. Yes the fields can except any number or string as well.

Thanks
Daniel

Well I'm glad it's an easy answer. But... uh... forgive my even dumber follow-up question. If "Import K2 items" is the wrong profile to start from, which is the right one? Do I choose "Import Joomla Articles" and then configure that profile to import into the #_k2_items table?

In the attached screen cap I've made a copy of the Import Joomla Articles profile and changed the table to #_k2_items on the thesis that vData's logic has me wanting CSV data structured as Joomla Articles into the K2 Items table and that the mapping that goes on after choosing the target lets me choose how to configure the migration (what Joomla fields map to what K2 fields).

And I've changed the Catid value to an arbitrary ID number. (I didn't realize it could take a number -- I thought I was limited to the options that pop up).

Is that right?

Hi,
It seems you chose wrong profile while importing the data. To import all the Items in a particular catid you just need to choose as defined option in K2 Import profile for catid field and enter the Category ID there. Now try to import K2 Items with K2 Item Import Profile. If you still find issue with importing it in Joomla articles. Please share your backend & FTP login credentials via Contact us form, We'll look into it.

Thanks
Daniel

Hi there.

I have a Joomla 2.5 site I'm trying to migrate content from in chunks. You very helpfully told me how to export the articles by category and now I'm trying to bring the resultant CSV export files into the Joomla 3.5 site.

I created a custom K2 Item Import profile with the Profile wizard and tried used it to import the CSV export from the Joomla 2.5 site's articles export.

I have managed to import the exported CSV, but the content came into the Joomla 3.5 site as regular Joomla articles, not K2 Items.

I am also trying to assign the imported content to a particular K2 Category. I'm guessing I have to map the catid field somehow but I can't see how.

I've included a screen grab of the top half of the K2 Item import profile from the Joomla 3.5 site.

I fear this is a total newb question but if I could get an answer or a URL to the page that explains how to do this, it would save me a ton of time.

Thanks.
