I'm glad we could make it work for you. Can you please do us a favour by leaving a full score review on JED? It would be highly appreciable. Here is the link:

That worked. Ignoring metadata and ensuring that the Publish_up field was mapped worked. I was able to import the 2.5 site's content export into my K2 v3.5 site.

Thanks very much for your help.

I am trying to import Joomla Content from a 2.5 site to a site that's running 3.5 and a K2-based theme.

I am able to export the content to CSV or JSON format -- 191 articles -- and I have been able to import them to K2, using the K2 Item Import profile.

But when I try to edit most of them, I get the response 0 Error decoding JSON data: Syntax error, with only an option to return to the Joomla admin control panel.

In the imported articles I can edit, it appears that HTML tags have been stripped from the fulltext field even though the profile has those import 'as is'.

I get the JSON error on edit regardless of whether the exported file is CSV or JSON. If I try XML I get "PARSE_ERROR - PCDATA invalid Char value 4"

I'm getting a 404 message when I try to view the log file for the export. The server error log (hosting is via cPanel so am able to see nothing useful) shows nothing pertinent.

I'm using vData 2.9.7 on Joomla 3.7.2 (to import) on a Linux based (I'm guessing) shared host. My PHP is 5.6.30. (More recent options are 7.0 and 7.1)

If I cannot get this solve I face having to import 191 articles via copy and paste from old to new site. That would be a huge waste of time.

Any advice you could offer would be most appreciated.
