See the attached image for table structure. Any help you can give is for a very good cause. This is for a volunteer non-profit (Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc 501 (c)(3)). First responders request our volunteers to come to the scene of tragedies to care for family/bystanders in shock. I'm trying to help us gather and present data to ensure grants and funding for our program. All that to say, have mercy this is for a good cause! I am trying to do two types of charts:
1. to write a query to generate a pie chart. I need to collate the number of all the suicides, overdoses, homicides, accidents (etc.., etc..) we've responded to. I will create a different chart for each month of the year but if I can get a "template" query for one, then no problem to edit.
2. write a query to generate a bar chart. As the year progresses, I would add to the query to add another bar. The chart would show total calls for each month (SELECT on date, filter on month and count total with matching months)

I've tried CASE statements, UNIONS, JOINS, etc but SQL query skills are weak. We're a non-profit with a tight budget and I forked out the money personally just to buy this component. I can't swing paying more for custom help. So any help writing these two statements would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!
