vAttribute plugin for Virtuemart Products

I am trying to use this plugin on a site.
The site is a current joomla 3.x site and I am using Virtuelmart 3.0.12
All your documentation is for Virtuemart 2.x and you say a minimum of this is required but not if the current Virtuelmart 3 is supported.
I gambled my $20 to save some time and installed the plugin. I can get most of it to look like it works but the jquery click boxes are both permanently clicked and it is unclear if the cart prie or selection is being noted by the store.
Can you confirm this is expected to work and perhaps provide some help setting up the custom plugin because it is a different layout and fields to your example.
